51 Ways to Love Your Enemies: How to love others when they are hurting you- Free Kindle Book

 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44,45

I came across this free Kindle Book, and I decided to write something about it. I know it is a topic easy to talk about but very hard to put into practice; and we need somehow a 'supernatural' power to achieve the above statement, which is one of Jesus' teachings.

Our natural reaction to negative feedback, tough circumstances, and intended wrongdoings, is either to pay back, or treat with indifference. And, yes that is the normal response to many of the widely condemned actions.

We all carry wounds and scars that others left in our lives. We hurt, and want the other person to feel the same, thinking that somehow they will learn not to do it again. But acting this way would only make the wounds more painful and the scars uglier, even if we don't want to admit that. It eats us from inside out, and no one hurts more than we do.

The process of healing starts only when we are ready to let go of the pain, and embrace God's love. Only then we can rise above the circumstance, treat others with the grace they don't deserve, and be part of a greater call.

Letting go of the pain doesn't mean that we instantly forget everything they've done wrong to us. There are situations that will never be forgotten. To exculpate somebody of their wrongdoing to you it must be an active choice. You might need to stop acting in hurt, lay it down before God in simple words, and sometimes it means just dealing with it one day at a time, one person at a time. Do a kind gesture, say a prayer, offer your help to those you find  'unworthy' of your service. These things take many by surprise, and beautiful things can come out of them. If not for them, for sure for yourself.

I am a work in process, desiring to have a heart that doesn't let circumstances or people influencing my decisions on who I want to become or what I want to accomplish, being ferm and yet kind, pleasing God above all. How about you?
